Registered Nurse – Cath Lab Job Vacancy in Dubai, United Arab Emirates

JOB DESCRIPTION

1.    Do & adhere to procedure room attire according to policy and procedure.

1. Directs and supervises all administrative and clinical activities of the Cathlab Unit.

1. Responsible for monthly preparing duty schedule and annual vacation scheduling for   staff nurses.

2. Develops and ensures the implementation and evaluation of standards of patient care.

3. Coordinates patient placement for optimal utilization of beds and equipment based on priority of patient care needs.
4. Ensures criteria for admission and discharge are followed at all times.

2.    Prepare room and equipment based on patient procedure needs.
3.    Demonstrate knowledge of aseptic technique.
4.    Correctly identifies patient and procedure site.
5.     Checking thoroughly the pre – operative checklist of patient; including checking

    completion required diagnostic & laboratory procedures.    

6.     Administer drugs/medications as per doctor’s orders.
7.     Provides safety to patient to self & the whole team by adopting all safety protocols    applicable to the unit.
8.    Monitors patient condition pre, intra- & immediate post-procedure.
9.  Demonstrates daily to position the patient with use of positional aids, maintaining      circulatory, respiratory, neuromuscular homeostasis while maintaining privacy and providing maximum exposure to the procedure.
10. Implement correct practices for the prevention of infection, practicing strict aseptic technique & maintenance of sterile field.
11. Maintain hand hygiene and infection control documents
12. Maintain confidentiality of patient’s records.
13. Demonstrate competence in Cardio – Pulmonary Resuscitation technique.
14. Takes responsibility for professional clinical practice and is actually involved in updating and Continuing Education.
15. Follows the reporting mechanisms/chain of command in the Nursing Department.   Issues are correctly and quickly reported. These include all patient care issues.
16. Complies with established Nursing Services Policies and Procedures.
17. Attends and participates in Unit meetings and other Managerial activities as assigned.
18. Demonstrate an awareness of fire/equipment hazards and the necessary precautions to be activated as per Hospital Policy.
19. Maintain all documents of MSDS , HAZMAT in coordination with FMS Team
20. Any other assigned responsibilities as needed as identified by Head Nurse or Supervisor.
21. Appropriate usage of radiation protection.
22. Responsible for medication Inventory (Floor stock, Controlled, Semi controlled, High alert etc.) Follow the protocol of controlled medicine handover
23. Monitor the patient’s procedure site for bleeding, infiltration etc.
24. Adherent the practice of Prescription Order Review.
25. Responsible for daily checking of crash carts and emergency equipments as per hospital policy.
26. Follow the protocol of handover communication during shift change, shifting the patient to other department and diagnostic procedure
27. Maintain the cleanliness of department following infection control protocols
28. Make sure the patient and families are involved in Health Education
29. Follow the protocol of patient identification while administering medication, blood transfusion, procedure etc.
30. To follow appropriate international guidelines, DHA regulations & Joint Commission International norms while treating or managing patients as well as while discharging their professional duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing/Diploma in Nursing. 

2. Current license in country of origin and with DHA license to practice in Dubai, UAE.

3. Minimum 2 years nursing experience in the relevant area after qualification, ACLS provider. 

4. Good English spoken & written, Arabic language advantageous/desirable but not essential.
