JOB DESCRIPTION
- Establish and maintain professional standards for quality patient care.
- Provide particular expertise in evaluating and performing surgical procedures to pediatric patients with surgical related problems.
- Antenatal counseling.
- Pre-and post-operative counseling, including obtaining informed consent from parents/careers and child if competent
- Be able to interpret MRI, CT scan and other radiological tests.
- Perform collaborative assistance in referral of above type of patients to appropriate facilities for management.
- Record all data of the patients’ care in the patients’ medical record in accordance with the acceptable international standards and medical center regulations.
- Carries out a full range of inpatient and outpatient clinical duties as assigned by the Medical Director/Head of Surgery in accordance with individually approved clinical privileges.
- Participates in on-call duties as required by the department/division.
- Strives to improve his clinical expertise as well as standard of practice with regard to morbidity and cost effectiveness.
- Serves on hospital committees as requested.
- Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities, within the hospital and/or affiliated medical facilities.
- Serves as Specialist pediatric surgeon to Surgery and OB/Gyne to in- and out-patients as assigned and/or required.
- Reviews journals, texts or periodicals in order to keep current on latest techniques, procedures, drugs and therapy.
- Actively participate in any training program or education activity related to Pediatric Surgery and organized within the medical center for training staff and in-service training.
- Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply those requirements.
- Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities.
- Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
- Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk assessments, incident reports.
- Comply with Waste management procedures and policies.
- Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs.
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduation from an approved medical school plus internship
- Three years residency in Pediatric surgery culminating in procuring a Post-Graduatation.
- Tier 1 or Tier 2 Qualification approved and recognized by DOH/ DHA/ MOH PQR
- Five or more year’s exclusive practice as Pediatric Surgeon since certification.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical services policies and procedures, U.A.E. law and regulations, company policies and procedures.
- Excellent command of oral and written English. Arabic desirable but not mandatory.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of Medical Ethics.
