The role of a nurse The position refers to work in a ward where we work in teams. In the team, you as a nurse have a supervisory function where you coordinate and share the nursing work with nurses, treatment assistants and other professions. At the Forensic Psychiatry Unit, we work from the foundation of seeing the person and having the courage to remain in all situations. Our goal is to offer evidence-based and equal forensic psychiatric care based on the individual’s needs. Reduce the risk of reoffending. Create the conditions for the individual to cope with his or her everyday life after the forensic psychiatric care has ended. The position is full-time until further notice, with access by appointment. Working hours take place during the day, evening and weekend according to a rolling schedule. Your future workplace Forensic psychiatry consists of two inpatient wards in security class 3, with a total of 24 beds, and an outpatient unit. The unit employs nurses, treatment assistants, nurses, occupational therapists, counsellors, psychologists and doctors. We work in teams for patients who were handed over to forensic psychiatric care. The Psychiatric Clinic in Jönköping is one of the county’s largest clinics with both outpatient and inpatient care in specialist psychiatry. The clinic offers specialist psychiatric care for residents over the age of 18. Parts of the clinic are also a county resource with responsibility for psychiatric intensive care, addiction care, forensic psychiatry and emergency services, where we handle acute cases within both the adult psychiatric clinic and the child and adolescent psychiatric clinic. If you have experience of psychiatric care, preferably in compulsory care or correctional care, it is something that is seen as an advantage. For the role, you must be confident in yourself and have an easy time handling different types of situations. You take responsibility for your tasks and run your work independently. Communication is an important part of the work and you need a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and adapt the way they convey your message to the recipient.
