Content Analyst (CMS) – UK

The purpose of this role is:

  1. Perform day-to-day “business – as- usual “content change requests and content projects in the current SharePoint 2013 platform for our People@bp intranet for People &Culture (P&C)
  2. Support the implementation of a more modern, employee experience portal (EXP) for P&C. Our current portal is based on SharePoint 2013 and will be moved into a newer and more modern version of SharePoint by the end of 2022. You will be required to assist with input into the design, content work streams and implementation of the new content management system configuration, and work through the content lifecycle.

You will report to the Global Solutions Owner (GSO) for employee portals as part of the P&C Reward & Wellbeing solutions team, and work with other Content Analyst. Your stakeholder will be a range of colleagues from Services + Solutions (S+S), P&C, and wider BP.

Key Accountabilities and deliverables

  • Play a key role in the overall execution of the content migration activities
  • Lead the update of core P&C content as aligned to the changes to process and ways of working
  • Ensure the content is fit for purpose, by applying knowledge of the P&C business, bp or similar experiences
  • Understand and use of content tagging to ensure content can be see by the correct audiences
  •  Ensure the content owners have applied the writing style guide and propose improvements where applicable
  • Apply content governance practices
  • Participate in the definition of content testing
  • Engage the content owners and stakeholders in the content testing phases
  • Report progress, risk, issues, dependencies
  • Use of design skills on pages, content layouts, banners, etc. to help content remain modern and fresh
  • Support BAU activities


Essential experience and job requirements:

  • Strong experience of editing pages and creating content of SharePoint sites
  •  2 to 3 years of end-to-end experience in managing digital content and design activities
  • Strong ability to take ownership of tasks, with little management
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in working on large scale platform and application migration /upgrade projects
  •  A strong ability to communicate all aspects of various decision-making processes effectively to senior management team
  •  A strong ability to report on daily and weekly progress, issues and risks encountered during project delivery
  • Must be self-starter who can work autonomously and take-on inflight project work
  • Able to communicate coherently and effectively with all levels of technology and business teams

Desirable Criteria

  • Good Experience of design and image editing software eg Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design
  • Use of Salesforce ticketing system
