Job Description
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts psychiatric interviews and collects data for diagnostic purposes.
- Provides various psychotherapies, including individual, group and family therapies.
- Offers counseling for couples with marital conflicts.
- Uses behavioral methods for the treatment of children and adults and plans the frequency, intensity and duration of therapy.
- Performs psychometric (mental measuring) testing for diagnosis and evaluation of therapy.
- Engages in training and educational activities that will improve methods and techniques for the management of emotionally disturbed patients.
- Keeps current with ideas in the fields of personality development and adjustment, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental disorders to assist in the planning of mental health progress.
- Provides advice to community organizations and participates in related psychological and welfare activities.
- Takes after hours or weekend calls as required by specific cases or in emergency situations as requested.
- To follow appropriate international guidelines, DHA regulations & Joint Commission International norms while treating or managing patients as well as while discharging their professional duties.
QUALIFICATION, LICENSURE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL SKILLS
- Ph.D. Degree in Clinical Psychology from a recognized college or university. During Ph.D. training the candidate should have undergone clinical training or done clinical work along with the research activities.
- At least with 3 years’ experience in the field of clinical psychology.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical ethics with regard to the obligation to maintain work confidentiality.
- Working knowledge of intelligence, achievement, interest, personality and other psychological tests and measuring devices.
- Current licensure in country of origin and with DOH license to practice in Dubai, UAE.
- Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, superiors, patients & families.
