Psychiatry Associate Consultant is a licensed physician who provides psychiatric assessment and care for children, adolescents, and, where appropriate, adult patients under the direct supervision of a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. The role includes supporting diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up plans for mental health conditions, and participating in the educational, clinical, and multidisciplinary team efforts within the Behavioral & Developmental Department 

Job Requirements

Job Responsibilities 

• Conduct initial psychiatric assessments under supervision of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry consultant. 
• Assist in developing treatment plans including pharmacologic and psychotherapeutic strategies. 
• Monitor treatment progress and document follow-up findings. 
• Participate in case discussions, Multidisciplinary Team meetings, and treatment planning. 
• Communicate effectively with patients and families to explain psychiatric conditions and treatment plans. 
• Coordinate care with psychologists, therapists, pediatricians, and allied professionals. 
• Document all patient interactions according to hospital standards. 
• Support academic, research, and quality improvement activities within the department. 
• Participate in teaching sessions for trainees, students, or allied staff when appropriate. 
• Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics in all patient encounters. 
• Attend and participate in scheduled on-call shifts under supervision. 
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervising consultant or department head, in accordance with the specialty’s scope of practice and the practitioner’s professional competencies. 

 Qualification And Experience 

Required Qualification:

• Saudi board or Equivalent in Psychiatry 
•  Higher qualification in child and adolescent psychiatry is preferred 

Required License / Certificates:

•  Valid professional license to practice medicine in the area of his specialty 
• Professional classification and Registration in Saudi Commission for Health Specialties as Senior registrar 
• CPR certificates BLS 

Required Experiences:

• Experience in child and adolescent psychiatry
